Buttons, C19th Societies, Clubs and Associations, a very fine and interesting selection including large gilts to four variable Masonic Lodges (2 mounted design), St Peter’s Boat Club (mounted), The Herne Club Public Works (crowned with VR centre), Royal Navy Half-Pay, Trinity (early Georgian type), Royal Naval reserve (scarce first pattern no anchor), Costa Rica Central America (superb mounted), Hawks Club, a Hunting & Fishing Club(mounted unknown), a fine climbing (?) club QVC over crossed ice-axes with intials OSC, ‘1st February 1837’ ‘It is de caws’ with central jackdaw motif, three fine mufti-style mounted QVC types, fine early Royal Artillery club or hunt, 13th Light Dragoons early mufti-style (not mounted); very large brass (toned) Chippenham Agricultural Association, similar to the Wellingborough Union Workhouse (some wear), a large gilt brass Stockbridge Association Labourers Friend, a large silver plate with castellated house design and scarce back mark ‘Smith & Kemp Birmingham’ plus two further fine gilt livery style items, excellent condition (26)
