Civilian Clothing late C18th/early C19th, a fine and rare gentleman’s white silk waistcoat with extremely fine decoration in silver metal thread embroidery, sequins etc., the designs of leaf and flower format, the unstiffened stand-up collar with similar decoration, the eleven frontal buttons silk covered and again beautifully worked in silver thread, the back panels with double draw-strings; together with a gentleman’s white silk sleeveless three quarter length waist-coat, this with applied gold bullion lace and further gold thread decoration, the front with dummy pierced gilt ball buttons and inner hidden buttons in mother of pearl, pocket flaps with gold lace trim and similar pierced gilt ball buttons, the rear half length panels in fine white cotton and metal buckle draw string, an attached label with printed ‘Ranken & Co’ and handwritten inscription ‘Capt Lord NGDM Milton/ Kutobarda? 1/9/93’, both garments in fine condition with only minor sequin loss to the first item (2) £150-200
