After serving in the Welsh Guards during the Great War, Victor Osborn became Valet to the Duke of York (afterwards King George VI). He was awarded the R.V.M. on 27 December 1928 in connection with the visit of the Duke and Duchess of York to Australia and New Zealand. See lot 1350 for the recipient’s miniature medals.
