John Thomas Gurney was born and lived in Calthorpe, Rugby, Warwickshire and enlisted at Warwick. Serving with the 1st Battalion Royal Warwickshire Regiment, he was killed in action, France/Flanders, on 25 April 1915. He was buried in the New Irish Farm Cemetery.
