Owen Charles Hedge was born in the Parish of Benger near Hertford. A groom by occupation, he attested for the Scots Guards on 6 November 1885, aged 19 years. He served in South Africa from 15 March 1900 until 4 October 1902 and was discharged on 5 November 1906. He died as an Army Pensioner residing in Southampton on 7 January 1949, aged 82 years. Medals and clasps confirmed; sold with copied service papers and death certificate.
