Pair: Private R. W. Horne, Imperial Yeomanry

Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 4 clasps, Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvaal, South Africa 1901 (516 Pte., 9th Coy. 3rd Imp. Yeo.), last clasp loose; Yorkshire Imperial Yeomanry 1900-1902, 3rd Battalion, South Africa 1900-1901 (516 R. W. Horne), first with official correction to initials, second with official correction to number, nearly extremely fine (2) £180-220

Private R. W. Horne served in the 9th Company (Doncaster) 3rd Battalion Imperial Yeomanry in the Boer War. During the Great War he volunteered to serve overseas with the Australian Forces but was rejected as medically unfit. He received Volunteer Badge no.55475. Sold with original but damaged photograph of the recipient in police(?) uniform.
