1914 Star, with clasp (Lt. Col. N. C. Ferguson, R.A.M.C.) very fine £80-100

Nicholas Charles Ferguson was born in Dublin on 10 July 1862, and joined the Army Medical Service as a Surgeon on 30 May 1885. He served in West Africa in 1896 (Ashanti Star) and in South Africa, 1899-1902 (Despatches London Gazette 16 April 1901, Queen’s medal with 6 clasps, King’s medal with 2 clasps, C.M.G.). He served during the Great War as Deputy Director of Medical Services (Despatches London Gazette 17 February and 22 June 1915; 1914 Star with clasp).
