King’s South Africa 1901-02, 2 clasps, South Africa 1901, South Africa 1902 (Maj. D. R. Hamilton, M.B. R.A.M.C.) small edge bruise, otherwise good very fine £60-80

David Rogerson Hamilton was born at Wamphray on 10 January 1858, and was appointed Surgeon in the Army Medical Department on 30 May 1885, becoming Major in the Royal Army Medical Corps in May 1897. He served during the Burmese expedition in 1886-88 (Medals with 2 clasps), and during the war in South Africa in 1901-02. Major Hamilton died at Wamphray, Moffat, on 17 October 1902.
