Important British, Irish and World Banknotes

One Pound, 1 August 1945, 1/A 0001, printer’s proof, serial numbers and date entered by hand, small 'C' and 'PB 1364' in right margin, notation on back 'Colour for back to be same shade green as machine using on front', perforated cancelled (McCammon GN 44; Pick 43a). Pinholes, a tiny piece out of right edge and lightly pressed, otherwise very fine, rare (£400-500)
