Germany, First World War, Blutsauger im Weltkriege [Bloodsuckers in World War], c.1915, an iron medal by M. Götze, large spider, its body decorated with a crown, entraps a naked writhing female within its web, reverse naked male figure clasping a money bag, being savaged by an eagle, 75mm (BDM VII, 386; cf. BDW 7, 868). Extremely fine and very rare (£120-150)
