Belgium, Opening of the Railway from Verviers to Aix-la-Chapelle, 1843, a bronze medal by L.J. Hart, bust of Leopold I three-quarters right, reverse seated and standing figures, trains to left and right, latter on a double-viaduct, 73mm (Moyaux 65; BDM II, 433; cf. Swan 220). Small graze in obverse field, otherwise extremely fine and patinated, very rare; in maroon shagreen case of issue (£90-120)
