Hammer Price:
£200

Victoria (1837-1901), Proof Third-Farthing, 1878, bronze, edge plain, struck en médaille, 0.93gm (BMC –; SC –; Prid. Malta 9A). Obverse lightly lacquered (as many proofs of this time were), otherwise brilliant and practically as struck, extremely rare (£150-200)

Ex SNC Dec. 1988 (7965). Recorded by Batty and Pridmore, but excluded by Peck and later writers. Some glue from the inside of the display envelope in which the coin has been kept has transferred to the reverse rim, but this should be removable with care and have no detrimental long lasting effect
