The Club de l’Auto, founded in 1970, caters for the owners of all cars built before 1940 and sports cars built between 1940 and 1965. The first Paris-Deauville rally, the brainchild of the car collector Adrian Maeght, took place in 1967 and, with exception of 1968 has been held annually ever since
