Augusta Wilhelmina Louise (1776-1810), daughter of Prince Charles Louis Frederick of Mecklenburg-Strelitz and Princess Frederica Caroline Louise of Hesse-Darmstadt, became Queen of Prussia on the accession of her husband, Frederick William III, in November 1797. Well known for her captivating beauty and arguably the force behind the Prussian throne at that time, she died of complications following a bout of typhoid in July 1810
