William Gilbertson & Co acquired the Primrose Forge & Tinplate Works, Pontardawe, in 1860, greatly expanding the facility so that it became the town’s principal employer; the checks were issued some time after 1885. Tonypandy Athletic Workmens Club and Institute, 87-8 Primrose street. Treharris Liberal Workmens Club, Bargoed terrace
