18th Century, Northumberland, Newcastle upon Tyne, Spence’s mule Halfpence (2), sailor, rev. conjoined heads of man and ass, 11.37g/6h (DH 12); man in boat, rev. shepherd, 10.41g/11h (DH 22) [2]. First very fine, second with usual die flaw, extremely fine and patinated, but spot on obverse and ‘1293’ inked in reverse field (£80-100)
