James VI (1567-1625), Britain Crown, mm. thistle-head, reads iacobvs, Scottish arms in first and fourth quarters, 2.50g/3h (SCBI 35, 1358, same dies; B 5, and fig. 99, same dies; S 5468). Has been pierced and plugged in front of face, the repair partly tooled over on reverse, otherwise fine and on a full yet slightly ragged flan, rare (£200-300)
