Julius Caesar (49-44 BC), Denarius, 44, Rome, veiled head of Caesar right, rev. p sepvllivs macer, Venus standing left, holding Victory and sceptre, shield at feet, 4.10g/6h (Craw. 480/13; BMC 4173; Sear 1414). Light scratches in front of forehead, weak at truncation (and corresponding on reverse), otherwise very fine (£350-450)
