Victoria (1837-1901), 1861, dies Ed, lc wyon on truncation, lock of hair undifferentiated, complete rose to drapery, colon dots after g align with gap in border teeth, rev. lcw below shield with flat perspective, 9.35g/12h (Gouby C; Satin 26; F 21 [dies 3+D; Sale, lot 14]; Adams 215; BMC –; S 3954). Two minor spots on lower right side of reverse, otherwise very fine and nicely patinated, extremely rare (£250-350)

Compares very favourably with the Colin Adams specimen, for which Laurie Bamford gave £520 in 2003 on behalf of a client; a specimen in about fine condition sold for as much as £650 in September 2001 (Croydon Coin Auctions, lot 148)
