France, Établissements Boucheron, c.1930, a uniface gilt-bronze award plaque by E.-H. Becker, bust of F. Boucheron above a tablet, jewels, pearls and other accoutrements of the jewellery trade on a table below, un-named, 113 x 73mm. Very fine and very rare (£120-140)

F. Boucheron (1830-1902) founded Éts. Boucheron, the prestigious international jewellers, gold- and silver-smiths, in Paris in1858. The date of this plaque is uncertain – it could possibly commemorate the 50th anniversary of the company (1908), the centenary of Boucheron’s birth (1930) or, equally likely, the 75th anniversary of the company (1933). The medallist, Edmond-Henri Becker, was at his most prolific in the 1930s and 1940s
