FRANCE, François-Marius Granet, 1827, a bronze portrait plaquette by Pierre-Jean David, called David d’Angers, small bust right wearing soft cap, granet pictor before bust, thin flan, 140mm (Reinis 417; Chesneau 720); François-René, Vicomte de Chateaubriand, 1830, a bronze portrait plaquette by Pierre-Jean David, bust in high relief right, chateaubriand behind head, rev. foundry signature, possibly of ‘Thiébaut Frères’, 128mm (Reinis 99; Chesneau 463) [2]. First with small piercing otherwise good very fine, rare, in fitted brass surround; second lacking patination, very fine £120-£150
