International Exhibition, Sydney, 1879, a silver award medal by J.S. and A.B. Wyon, similar, female representing Australia holding shield and laurel, implements of industry at her feet, rev. wreath of Australian plants, un-named, 51mm (BDM VI, 591; cf. BM Acq. 1978-82, pl.76, 66). Very fine and toned, rare in silver (£80-100)

Obverse only illustrated on the Plates. Although un-named, the medal was acquired by the vendor with the medals of Sir Samuel Wilson (see lots 1596, 1600 and 1602), which makes it appear likely that Wilson was the original recipient
