2nd Regiment of Derbyshire Militia (Supplementary), a very fine and rare officer’s die-struck oval hall-marked silver shoulder belt plate (London 1803, maker’s mark ‘WW’, possibly William Wakefield), the raised design showing the crown over a shield with central rose, on a scroll below ‘Second Regiment’, one hook and two studs to reverse, excellent condition £800-1000

The 2nd (Supplementary) regiment was raised in 1803 in order to meet the county requirement for militia men. The regiment was disbanded or absorbed in 1806.
