M.M. London Gazette 30 January 1920: ‘His Majesty the King has been graciously pleased to approve of the award of the Military Medal to the undermentioned Warrant Officers and Men for bravery in the Field, whose services have been brought to notice in accordance with the terms of Army Order 193 of 1919:- Royal Warwickshire Regiment. 9428 Pte. Hayward, G., 2nd Bn. (Coventry).’

Sold with medal index card which shows him as going abroad on 4 October 1914, confirms him as ‘P. of W.’, and states clasps and roses re-issued in 1923.
