Delhi Durbar 1911, silver, unnamed as issued, in damaged card box of issue, extremely fine £40-60

Sold with two ‘Government of Madras’ notices relating to the medal, both with accompanying slips inscribed to ‘Rev. E. S. Carr, M.A.’

Edmund Stileman Carr, son of Rev. Cannon E. Carr of Holbrook Hall, Derby, was born on 6 July 1864. Attending Trinity College Cambridge, he gained a B.A. in 1886 and M.A. in 1890. Ordained a Deacon at Colchester in 1887 and Priest in 1890. He served with the Church Missionary Society in Tinnevelly, 1887-1915 and was Honorary Secretary of the Zenama Bible and Medical Mission, 1916-33 and Honorary Financial Secretary, 1933-44. He died on 10 June 1954. Additionally sold with copied research.
