William Montgomery was born in Pathgar, Co. Dublin and living in Clontarf, enlisted at Dublin. Serving in the A.S.C. and attached to the 85th Field Ambulance Royal Army Medical Corps, he was killed in action, in the Balkans, on 28 March 1917. He was buried in the Struma Military Cemetery, Kalokastron, Greece.
