Waterloo 1815 (John Cousins, 1st or Royal Dragoons) fitted with steel clip but lacking ring suspension, light contact marks and edge bruising, otherwise very fine £1000-1200

Two men of this name served with the regiment at Waterloo, one of whom was born at Warminster, Wiltshire, and enlisted at Shaftsbury for the 1st Dragoons on 25 December 1799, aged 19 years, a cordwainer by trade. He was discharged to pension on 11 September 1821, in consequence of scrofula and being worn out. Sold with copy discharge papers.
