Estimate: £800–£850

Military General Service 1793-1814, 4 clasps, Busaco, Pyrenees, Orthes, Toulouse (C. Atkinson, 7th Foot) refixed suspension and re-furbished overall, with severe edge bruising most probably caused by old brooch-mounts, otherwise generally fine £800-850

Christopher Atkinson was born at Kendal, Westmorland and enlisted in the 7th Foot at Oxford in April 1808, aged 18 years. As verified by his service record, he was discharged in July 1818 as a consequence of ‘a muscular injury of the right arm from a fall in September 1817, and being short sighted, and wounded in the left leg at Orthes in February 1814’.
