Charles Hookins, a railway fireman from Pawlett, Bridgwater, Somerset, was born in 1896. He attested into the Royal Field Artillery on 1st September 1914 for service during the Great War and served on the Western Front from 3 August 1915, and was moved quickly to the Egyptian theatre, landing at Gallipoli on 18 August 1915. Advanced Acting Bombadier, he was discharged as a result of pulmonary tuberculosis on 13 July 1916 and was awarded a Silver War Badge, No. 51222. He later died at home on 9 January 1919 and is buried in St. John the Baptist Church, Pawlett, Somerset.

Amos Workman, from Bridgwater, Somerset, attested into the Royal Garrison Artillery and served during the Great War in India, where he died on 10 November 1914. He is buried in Rawalpindi War Cemetery, Pakistan.
