The East Yorkshire Regiment, an officer’s 1878 pattern blue cloth home service helmet complete with all gilt fittings and bearing a post 1902 KC plate, this composite with varying qualities of gilt, the crown has been re-attached, the spike and quadrant devoid of gilt the other elements good (chin chain is an officer’s 1869 pattern shako pattern), the body good and free of moth,internally sound and retailed by W Cater & Co, accompanied by a japanned helmet tin this with stencilled initials ‘JWC’, plate not original to the helmet (2) £400-450
