Three: Private S. G. Saunders, 3rd Light Dragoons

Cabul 1842 (No.1060 Samuel Saunders, 3rd K.O.L.D.), regimentally engraved naming, replacement clip and straight bar suspension; Sutlej 1845-46, for Moodkee 1845, no clasp (Samuel George Sanders, 3rd Lt. Dragns.); Punjab 1848-49, 2 clasps, Chilianwala, Goojerat (S. G. Sanders, 3rd Lt. Dragns.), note different spelling of surname, edge bruising, contact marks, nearly very fine and better (3) £1000-1400

Samuel George Saunders enlisted in London on 19 January 1839. Serving with the 3rd Light Dragoons in both the First and Second Sikh Wars, the Sutlej medal roll shows him being entitled to the clasp Ferozeshuhur. On the return of the regiment from India in 1853, he volunteered for service in the 14th Light Dragoons. He died at Benares on 18 December 1854.
