The group of eight miniature dress medals attributed to Lieutenant-Colonel C. E. Collard, Royal Marines, the senior Royal Marine officer afloat during the Battle of Jutland, Order of the Bath, Military Division, gold and enamel; East and Central Africa 1897-99, 1 clasp, Uganda 1897-98; Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 4 clasps, Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvaal, Rhodesia; King’s South Africa, 2 clasps; 1914 Star; British War and Victory Medals; Russia, Order of St. Stanislaus, silver-gilt and enamel, last with enamel damage to arms both obv. and rev.; Q.S.A. & K.S.A. with heavy contact marks, worn; others very fine and better (8) £300-350

The recipient’s full-size medals were sold at D.N.W. 2 March 2005, lot 983. Sold with a letter of provenance confirming that the miniatures were originally bought by the vendor with the full-size medals.
