India General Service 1895-1902, 3 clasps, Punjab Frontier 1897-98, Samana 1897, Tirah 1897-98 (2522 Pte. A. Clark, 1st Bn. Northn. Regt.) edge nicks, good very fine £160-180

Arthur (Edward) Clark was born at Richmond and enlisted in the Northamptonshire Regiment in August 1889, aged 18 years. Advanced to Lance-Corporal in January 1891, he lost his stripe for being absent without leave in the following year, when he was sentenced to six months imprisonment by a District Court Martial. A Private for the remainder of his career, he served out in India from March 1893 until December 1902, where he is verified as having qualified for the above described Medal and three clasps. Clark was placed on the Army Reserve on his return to the U.K.
