This lot was sold as part of a special collection, The Collection of Medals to the Leicester Regiment and Yeomanry formed by the late Trevor Harris.

M.M. London Gazette 10 May 1945:

‘For gallant and distinguished services in the Field.’

The original recommendation for Knott’s M.M. has not yet been located, although it is worth stating that the general nature of the heading that announced his award in the London Gazette might well suggest that he was a successful evader or escapee.
