M.M. London Gazette 15 May 1919.

Sold with an original typed citation, signed by Major G. R. A. Beckett, C.O. of the 1/4th Battalion, Leicestershire Regiment, and dated 4 December 1918, which states:

‘For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty on 29 September 1918. During the attack [on the St. Quentin Canal] this man went forward through the enemy barrage to obtain touch with a forward company. He reached an enemy post which had not been “mopped up” and attacked it, capturing five of the enemy.’
