Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 3 clasps, Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvaal (22144 Pte. W. Foster, 7th Coy. Imp. Yeo.) edge nicks, good very fine £60-80

No. 7 (Leicester) Company, 4th Battalion, Imperial Yeomanry.

William Foster was born at Lambeth and enlisted in the Imperial Yeomanry in January 1901, having earlier served in the West Kent Yeomanry. He subsequently served in South Africa from February of the latter year until August 1902 and was discharged soon after his return to the U.K.
