Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 2 clasps, Cape Colony, South Africa 1902 (Capt. R. H. Radford, Leic. Rgt.) good very fine £200-250

An officer of the 3rd (Militia) Battalion, Leicestershire Regiment during his brief posting to Cape Colony in April-May 1902, Radford does not appear to have seen further active service, but rather remained employed in the same Battalion in the U.K. during the Great War, in the rank of Major. In April 1917, he transferred to the 11th (Service) Battalion, also known as the Midland Pioneers’ Battalion.
