M.S.M. London Gazette 17 June 1919. ‘130452 Pte. F. Spalding (Norwich)’. ‘... for gallantry in the performance of Military duty’.

Research would seem to suggest that the act of gallantry took place at the Machine Gun Corps Base Depot at Camiers, near Etaples, France.
