David Henry Alexander Doggett was born at Brentford, Middlesex, in 1932 and was commissioned into the Royal Marines as 2nd Lieutenant on 1 September 1949; Acting Lieutenant on 3 May 1951; and Lieutenant on 1 November 1952. Doggett served in the Canal Zone with 42 Commando Royal Marines and retired in 1957.
