Oudiné adapted for the Association Amicale des Anciens Élèves du Collège Chaptal, bust right, rev. legend, named (Émile Gevrey, President, 1937), 52mm (CGMP p.225 for obv.; BDM IV, 349). About extremely fine, rare; in original green fitted case (£50-70)

Obverse only illustrated. Jean-Antoine Chaptal, Comte de Chanteloup (1756-1832), chemist and statesman from Lozère, who among many other talents was the architect of the roads over the Simplon and Mont Cenis passes
