14th century, a bronze mount with seated figure of St Agnes as a young girl with coiled hairstyle in long robes holding a lamb in her raised right hand; two rivet holes, one with a pin present for attachment with a flat back, 4.7cm long by 3.2cm wide. Very fine with an olive green patina £100-£150
Provenance: Found near the Cistercian abbey of Cleeve at Washford in Somerset (PAS SOM-5CA9DD). St Agnes is the patron saint of gentleness and purity
