Francis Lynch attested for the Royal Welsh Fusiliers on 19 February 1914 and served with the 2nd Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front from 11 August 1914 (also entitled to a clasp to his 1914 Star). He was discharged, due to wounds on 7 August 1916 and awarded a Silver War Badge No. 10700.
