Florence Alice Hill, a long serving member of St. John Ambulance Brigade, Surrey Brigade, was the wife of James Hill.

Henry Arthur Hill attested for the Queen’s (Royal West Surrey) Regiment during the Great War and served on the Western Front from 27 July 1915. Appointed Corporal, he was reported missing, later confirmed as killed in action whilst serving with the 7th Battalion on 13 July 1916, during the Battle of the Somme. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, France.
