A Second Afghan War Medal Menu Holder

Afghanistan 1878-80 (B/156. Pte. W. Sealey. 66th. Foot) converted into an attractive hallmarked silver menu holder, with fixed suspension and stylised blank clasp, generally good very fine £100-£140

The 66th Regiment of Foot distinguished themselves at the Battle of Maiwand on 27 July 1880, ‘one of the grandest examples of heroism in the annals of war’, where the Regiment lost its Colours and 10 officers and 275 other ranks were killed.
