4th (Queen’s Own) Light Dragoons, a very fine and rare officer’s full dress sabretache c1842-56, of large proportions the blue cloth face decorated with the regimental pattern train lace which enclose the rich gold bullion velvet and cloth regimental device, being the crown over the Garter which rests within laurel sprays central ‘VR’ and scrolled battle honours, Peninsula Talavera Salamanca Vittoria Albuhera Toulouse Ghuznee Afghanistan, the reverse bag of dark blue morroccan, the inner pocket flap inscribed in ink ‘MR9079/worn by General A Low CB/when in the 4th QOLD’, the lace dull overall and loss of sundry ‘jewels’ to the crown otherwise in remarkably good condition £3000-4000

Note: Undoubtably taken to the Crimea by Low and as the officers of the regiments involved in the Charge wore both dress and undress uniforms it is not impossible that this item was worn in the charge
