Harris family group of miniatures:

The mounted group of four miniature dress medals attributed to General P. H. F. Harris, Indian Army, Order of the Bath, Military Division, gold and enamel, bulbous centres, straight bar suspension and gold buckle on 24mm. wide ribbon; China 1857-60, no clasp; Afghanistan 1878-80, no clasp; ribbon of the India General Service 1854-95, 1 clasp, Burma 1885-7, with Indian Mutiny miniature (lacking suspension rod) attached by wire, mounted as worn

Harris, Indian Army, India General Service 1854-95, 1 clasp, Burma 1885-7; India General Service 1895-1902, 4 clasps, Punjab Frontier 1897-8, Samana 1897, Tirah 1897-8, Waziristan 1901-2, mounted as worn, very fine (6) £120-160

Philip Henry Farrell Harris (1833-1913) entered the Indian Army in 1850; served in the expedition to the White Cloud Mountains in China, 1858-60 and served in the Afghanistan campaign of 1878-80, seeing action at Ali Kheyl and was mentioned in despatches. In the Burma campaign of 1885-7, he commanded the garrison at Mingyan and was again mentioned in despatches and created a Companion of the Bath. He retired from the Army in 1897. Sold with full-size riband bar.

Arthur Philip Desborough Harris, son of the above, was born in 1862. In the Burma 1885-7 campaign he was present at the taking of Minhla, took part in the operations in Yaw, including service with the Pank and Yaw Columns and service with the 6th Brigade. For his services he was mentioned in despatches. On the N.W. Frontier of India, he took part in the Samana and Kurram Valley operations during 1897, in the Tirah campaign 1897-8 he was present in the actions of Dargai and Sampagha Pass. He later served in the Waziristan campaign of 1901-2. Sold with some copied research.
