Six: Private A. Mitchell, 1/5th Battalion, Norfolk Regiment, a member of the Royal Household working on the Sandringham Estate, who served with the famous ‘Vanished Battalion’ at Gallipoli

1914-15 Star (2038 Pte., Norf. R.); British War and Victory Medals (2038Pte., Norf. R.); Coronation 1937, with original card case of issue; Royal Household Faithful Service Medal, G.V.R., dated 1911-1931, with ‘Thirty Years’ bar (Mitchell, Arthur Edward) with original fitted case of issue; Special Constabulary Long Service Medal, G.V.R. (Arthur Mitchell); together with recipient’s Royal Household Long Service Token, the reverse dated ‘1931’, and inscribed ‘A. E. Mitchell’, with original fitted case of issue; and Norfolk Special Constabulary bronze mufti badge, generally good very fine or better (8) £600-800

Arthur E. Mitchell served at Gallipoli with the 1/5th Battalion, Norfolk Regiment from 30 July 1915 to 7 October 1915. He was awarded the Royal Household Faithful Service Medal whilst working at the Sandringham Estate, and is listed as working as a Woodman at Sandringham when he received the Coronation 1937 (his christian name is erroneously given as Albert on this roll). Sold with confirmation.
