Wilfred Francis James Lait was born in London, England. Enlisting in Toronto, Ontario in December 1914, he entered the Great War with the Canadian Cyclists, arriving in England aboard the S.S. Corinthian. Commissioned 2nd Lieutenant in the 3rd Battalion Border Regiment in May 1917, he was killed in action on 3 August 1917. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial. Sold with 29 sheets of copied service papers.
