Army L.S. & G.C., E.VII.R. (Sergt. Major G. Hamilton, Ghizree Sanitarium (sic)) edge bruising and lightly polished, very fine and unusual £40-60

George Hamilton, who was born at Salford in March 1867, originally enlisted in the Royal Lancashire Fusiliers in March 1885, and was embarked for India in the following year. In January 1893, he transferred as a Sergeant Instructor 1st Class to the Sind Volunteer Rifle Corps at Karachi, and was advanced to Sergeant-Major in July 1902, when he was posted to the Ghizree Sanitorium. Hamilton was awarded his L.S. & G.C. Medal in August 1904, and in the following year transferred to a new appointment at the Mount Abu Sanitorium. He appears to have retired in 1909.
