China 1900, 1 clasp, Relief of Pekin (4731 Pte. F. Williams, 2nd Rl. Welsh Fus.) good very fine £300-350

Frederick Williams was born near Shrewsbury, Shropshire. A tailor by trade, he enlisted into the Royal Welsh Fusiliers on 20 July 1895, aged 19 years six months. With the regiment he served in the occupation of Crete, July 1897-August 1898 and September-December 1898 and in China during December 1898-December 1902. For his service during the Boxer Rebellion he was awarded China medal with clasp. He was transferred to the Reserve in 1902 and discharged at the termination of his period of engagement in 1911. Sold with copied service papers.
